Desert Vibes

July 6, 2016

Hey y'all!

Can you believe it's already July? It feels like this summer has just flown by. I've spent a majority of it busy babysitting and dog sitting, attempting to save up some cash before heading back to college to blow it all on some cute new outfits textbooks. Seriously, they're ridiculously expensive.

But, I recently went to the Galleria with my mother and did a little bit of damage to my "savings". I decided to pick up this fun and adorable printed one piece from Forever 21. I just love the muted colors and of course, the oh-so-trendy cactus. It's totally insta-worthy if you ask me. Unfortunately it's sold out online but I have linked a few options below that are all under $100.

I paired it with these Free People shorts that I also got while at the Galleria. They were already on sale plus there was an extra 20% off so how could I say no? I absolutely love the way their denim fits and feels. Definitely worth the splurge if you ask me.

I head back to school at the end of this month to begin practicing for recruitment. It feels like just yesterday I was preparing to rush! But I'm so excited to be on the other end of it. Check out my personal recruitment experience by clicking here.

10 of the Most Addicting Shows to Binge-Watch on Netflix

June 14, 2016

Hey y'all!

A while ago, I did a post about what to watch on Netflix. But now it's time to update that list! These shows are absolutely GREAT for those lazy binge-watching days.

1. Bob's Burgers - If you're a fan of Family Guy or anything along those lines, this show will be a good one for you! It's a cartoon family that owns its own restaurant. I really love the characters because they actually have their own personalities. Tina is my personal favorite because she's going through her awkward teenage years, and she loves boys' butts. Another great thing about this show is that you don't have to watch it in order! Just pick one and press play.

2. Hart of Dixie - Thanks to one of my room mates, she got me hooked on this show! Maybe it's because I'm in love with Alabama, but it's a good watch. A young doctor moves from New York City to a small town in Alabama that is VERY in touch with its southern roots. Needless to say, she doesn't quite fit in, but boy, does she try. Plus, there's some major eye candy in the show (George Tucker and Wade Kinsella, heck yes).

3. Parks and Recreation - While the first season isn't the greatest, I promise it gets SO much better. The show focuses on a parks and recreation department in a small town in Indiana. With the quick wit and crazy situations, it is impossible not to smile at most of the jokes they crack. Plus, 7 seasons? Sign me up for a Netflix marathon.

4. The Office - If you haven't seen this show already, what the heck is wrong with you? It is such a classic. The show is about a paper company with a not-so-bright boss that makes for the perfect amount of shenanigans. It's a 'mock-umentary' style show, so the characters will talk / make faces to the camera which makes you feel like you're actually a part of the show.

5. The League - This show is definitely for the football fans. A group of guy friends compete in a fantasy football league together. I didn't think I would like it at first, but they have quite a few funny moments that actually made me laugh out loud. It's an easy watch that you don't have to stay tuned into 24/7 to understand what's happening.

6. Breaking Bad - After finding out he has terminal cancer (don't worry -- this is in the first episode aka not a spoiler), a high school chemistry teacher decides to start making meth in order to leave behind money for his family. As the series goes on, it becomes apparent that it's not that simple.

7. Pretty Little Liars - Four girls start to receive texts and strange messages after their best friend mysteriously disappears. You definitely have to pay close attention while watching, but it's fun trying to guess who "A" is! This show has SO many episodes so it's totally great for a girls night in of binge-watching.

8. Fuller House - If you're a 90's kid, then you probably grew up watching Full House the OG. Well, this is a reunion season ( that I hope continues ) following DJ, Stephanie and Kimmy. While Danny, Jesse, Joey, Becca and others make appearances, the main focus is on the daily shenanigans of the kids now turned adult. My favorite part is that there are a TON of references from the original show.

9. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt - Written by the one and only Tina Fey, this show is about a young woman who grew up as a 'mole-woman' in an underground bunker. She finally is freed and she has to learn how to live in the real world of New York City. Weird? Very. Hilarious? You better believe it.

10. Gilmore Girls - I personally just started this show with my boyfriend and we love it! It's about a mother daughter duo who take on the struggles of every day life. The acting can be pretty terrible at times, but it's a sweet show with positive life lessons.

Going Out Just Got Easier - The JimmyCASE Review

May 27, 2016

Hey y'all!

As some of you may know, I usually end up as the packed mule when it comes to going out at night. Since I carry a purse, all of my friends ask me to put their phone, wallet, keys, etc into my bag. And of course I say yes because I have the extra room anyways.

But thanks to my friends at JimmyCASE, I don't have to worry about that anymore! This slim yet stylish phone case doubles as a wallet so I can just grab it and go instead of having to carry a bag with me. I know there are a lot of these types of phone cases on the market, but this particular one holds up to 6 cards as well as cash without getting overstretched.

As soon as I received my iPhone 6+ Wallet Case, I put it on and went to dinner with some friends. I was surprised at how many compliments I received on it! When it came time to get the check, it was nice knowing exactly where my cards were without having to search through my purse for my wallet. (If you're anything like me, your phone is basically attached to you) Inside of the elastic I had my drivers license, debit card, credit card and a 20$ bill. Even with all of this stuff, I never once felt like any of it would fall out.

The quality of the case is unbelievable. The wood backing is so smooth and soft. Plus I love how the light color wood looks with the pink and grey on the elastic fabric. But if this isn't your style, there are still plenty of other color combinations to pick from as well as a customizable option where you can pick a bumper color, wood shade, and fabric colors! The options are truly endless.

I personally can't wait to go back to school and get to use this phone case to hold my student ID. I think this case is perfect for high school and college students alike. If y'all are interested in purchasing one for yourself or a friend, then head on over to and pick one up!

The Four Types of College Room Mates

May 10, 2016

The Mom - She's the one who yells at you for leaving dishes in the sink -- even if they've only been in there for 20 minutes. Whether you're doing homework or taking a nap, she's constantly vacuuming and cleaning up after everyone, even though there's no mess. She considers herself the queen of Pinterest but the craftiest thing she's ever done is hung up a picture frame. Her way of confronting you over an issue is a passive aggressive subtweet that you will just laugh off and ignore. When you come home from a long night out, she'll be sitting in the living room with a worried look wondering where you've been. She might think she means well, but it's college. You already have a mom.

The Party Animal - Love her or hate her, she's the one with the good stories. You'll wonder how she can stay out until 4 am but still make it on time to her 8 am. She knows at least one boy in every fraternity and always knows which parties to skip out on. Her closet is full of swap/darty-ready choices. Plus she knows how to help you get rid of that horrible hangover stomachache that you have. Trust me when I tell you that this is a valuable room mate to have, but remember that not everyone can go shot-for-shot with her.

The Homebody - You're not really sure how she ever has clean laundry since the only time she leaves the dorm is to go to the dining hall or class (although sometimes she doesn't even do that). You can count the number of times she has been to a party on one hand, but you'll still try and invite her to go out. Don't be offended when she kindly declines and say she's tired or has {insert basic girl Netflix series} to watch. It can be a little sad to watch someone waste away their college experience, but hey, some people really just like to stay at home in their pjs all day, erryday.

The Best Friend - You'll be connected at the hip and she will be your other half. Most importantly, she'll be the one to watch the Bachelor with you but to also take you to Waffle House at 2 am. You'll wonder how you even called your old high school friends your bestie when this girl just gets you. Whether you share clothes, food or secrets, be thankful that she's there to keep you sane.

These are personally VERY accurate, but don't take everything I say too seriously. College is amazing and you will interact with so many different types of people. I absolutely loved my freshman year and had two of the most bomb roommates ever. I can't wait to see what Tuscaloosa has in store for me next year. Counting down the days until I'm back for my sophomore year!
